This stunning pair of Chinese temple corbels was hand-carved in wood. Each corbel displays a Chinese warrior mounting a dragon or serpent. Dragons in particular are frequent and auspicious patterns in the Chinese tradition. These corbels showcase a great attention to detail as seen with the faces, clothes and weapons, and feature wonderful foliage motifs throughout. Each corbel is mounted on a wood base and varnished. These items were originally architectural adornments in a Chinese temple.
