The head is mounted on a simple square wooden plinth, which contrasts nicely with the highly detailed face. The painted details feature the characteristic Ming make up style, with an immaculate white face and a deep red mouth. The eyes seem almost alive, and the hairstyle shows a gorgeous Ming typical two-hull bun. The ears are carefully pierced, probably in order to add earrings. This rare head is very much representative of the Ming court style, and would bring a rare and stunning presence to any home. The measurements indicated below include the base. See less
