Each drawer is adorned with brass ring pulls with circular back plates, their curve balancing nicely the linear profile and dark finish of the piece. The cabinet is raised on four block feet. The term kang comes from a platform destined to receive people atop, typically found in Northern China and made of hollow brick, allowing to burn fuel underneath to provide some heat.
