D. Porthault Paris, established in 1920, is one of the finest luxury linen, towel, and accessories brands in the world. Over the last 100 years, the company's clients have included Catherine Deneuve, the Duchess of Windsor, Coco Chanel, Jaqueline Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and Sir Winston Churchill.
The Hearts design was created in the early 1950's when the Duchess of Windsor asked Madeleine Porthault to design custom linens for the Windsors' château in Neuilly-sur-Seine outside of Paris. The hearts represent the Duke and Duchess' commitment to each other/ Each heart's outline for a "W" for the House of Windsor and some hearts represent "W" for Wallis and others an "E" for Edward.
