This lamp features a base that has the point of entry for the light bulb. Then, surrounding the light bulb there are translucent semi-circular slides that are inserted around the base of the lamp. When lit, the slides create beautiful designs in the light. A truly magnificent effect. The lamp is wired for European but can be used with a converter easily. If desired, the lamp could be rewired for US. The lamp measures 21.5 inches tall, 10.5 inches diameter at the top of the lamp where the plastic slides are placed and 7 inches diameter at the bottom of the lamp. This is a rare vintage lamp that works beautifully. There are replacement slides that come with the original slides. Some of the original slides have cracks or pieces broken off but the replacements were custom made to fit this lamp and they are brand new. Overall, a fabulous lamp that is highly collectible and beautiful when lit. An excellent lamp for a home or office decor. See less

The lamp is wired for European voltage, but it can easily be re-wired if desired. Otherwise, an adapter can be used to run the lamp. There are clear plastic slides around the lamp and a brand new replica set was designed and fabricated for the slides that were missing. If desired, the old slides still mostly fit, but there doesn't need to be worries about there being enough slides that fit the circumference of the lamp. The lamp runs beautifully and produces good light. Overall the piece is in very good condition given its age.
