A rare stunning excellent photogravure (print) of Marble Head Of The Youthful East Roman Emperor Arcadius (395-408), This part was intended to be inserted into a separately carved body. Drill holes for pupil in eye. Istanbul, about 395-400. 13 and 3/8 "H. Archaeological Museum, Istanbul.
The photogravure comes from a rare First and Only Edition art folio published in Switzerland in the 1940s. Printed on one side. Hand tipped-in on a sheet of heavy paper. Numbered at the lower right corner: 3. Excellent condition - never framed.
