- Description
- This is a monumental chandelier with a grand scale of 43”x56”. This chandelier came out of a 1930s Spanish home … more This is a monumental chandelier with a grand scale of 43”x56”. This chandelier came out of a 1930s Spanish home in Beverly Hills. I believe that this light is wrought iron with a gold paint finish. The light features four gothic creatures at the top which we understand to be a representation of “satyr” a half man half goat mythical being that was known to be the god of wine and festivities, Which also explains the vines near the bottom of the light that wrap around the sides as if they were grape vines. It also features four Dragon heads near the bottom that hold candles on their heads. I cannot put this light in any one particular era as it crosses boundaries of so many different styles. This light could be considered Spanish revival, Spanish Mediterranean, , Gothic revival, Tudor, or even French with the leafed detailing. After researching I could Not find another light like this in existence. This really could be an auction piece. I tried to include all detail in photos. less
