Vintage; C1970s-80s; A rare original Leon Rosen Design for Pace Collection, is this minimal, post Mid-Century Modern style, polished steel, cigarette occasional or drinks side table with an attached, cantilevered, a rotating triangular-shaped, thick tempered, glass top, with a beveled edge surround. The entire piece may come apart from the circular round portion of the beam or stem base, in a counter clok-wise formation. Skilled forged bent V-shaped, for Victory footed base; balances off this simple, and sophisticated table, from the feet, to the stem/ beam tension, offsetting the table with a 1/2" thick, apposing ended, cantilevered, green tinted tempered, glass top, giving off the symmetry and balance, while also, retaining the strength and obvious tension, much like a sculptural or architectural piece(s) do, with the overall unity of materials utilized. One often thinks the word, harsh when identifying or equating steel, BUT the softened, clean look achieved with polished steel, lends itself to accompanying softer identifying material, such as the fragility of glass, made even more sturdy as a component, whereupon with the light refraction of transparency, as well as the juxtaposition, is the stability rendered to this gorgeous, piece with all the elements and unity of style coming together in the shape and form, as well as the simple, refined functionality of the piece. It is a one of a kind and highly sought after piece(s) from the Pace Collection, and a simple unhindered dynamic of a ensemble piece for any interior setting, of many which are coveted from this venerable Interior Design Manufacturing Company, a "To the Trade," Product represented throughout the Interior Design Trade Showroom(s). Nuances of Mid-Century and Hollywood regency elements abound in this cantilevered, triangle-shaped, wedge-shaped table. A rare and often hard to find piece.
In excellent condition for era and use. NO CHIPS NOR FLEA BITES TO GLASS. less
