A elegant antique French Fin de Siecle Belle Epoque period bedside cabinet commode stand, circa 1895. (today, it would make for a wonderful nightstand, side table or petite hall console)
Exquisitely hand-crafted in France at the turn of the late 19th - early 20th century, executed in luxurious King Louis 16th taste, elaborately inlaid in exotic precious woods and finished on all sides so it can be placed anywhere in the room, featuring sophisticated geometric cubed parquetry work, highly figured burlwood filets, string banding and delicate cross-banding inlays. Having a kidney bean shaped variegated scagliola marble top, over conforming solid wood case fitted with two drawers affixed with ring pulls, flanked by gilt bronze mounts, rising on transitional cabriole legs, ending in sabots. Retaining antique character and charm throughout, including chips to the front of the original marble top.
