- French 19th century Empire commode having lovely bookmatched walnut and gray fossil marble top that sits over a wide drawer … more French 19th century Empire commode having lovely bookmatched walnut and gray fossil marble top that sits over a wide drawer (all are dovetailed) hidden in the apron of the piece, over two more spacious drawers with ornate pulls and escutcheons. A pair of columns sit on either side of the drawers, and all are on a thick plinth base with wide, raised feet. The patina of the wood is truly beautiful; be sure to scroll the detailed images. This lovely commode is a great size that would serve as a bedside commode, a side table in a living room, or add elegance to any room!
