Hand-knotted in wool and hailing from China circa 1900-1910, this 7x10 antique Peking rug is an exceptional find among works of this provenance known today.
On the Design:
Keen eyes for detail will admire the rich shades of moss and emerald green underscore lotus floral patterns in medallions throughout the field, spandrels, and the central border between two geometric meanders. The patterns enjoy a sandy beige and cream white play of tones, beautifully complementary to the saturated colorway beneath and equally so in their illustration. Connoisseurs will appreciate it as an extremely collectible piece, yet also an exemplar of the elements that make Peking rugs so distinct from other Oriental and Chinese rugs today—elegant works of a reserved palette like few others seen today. This is a bold, graphic, personal antique piece; a piece of weaving history most likely from a special workshop with a deep reverence for the charm of floral rugs—this being one of the most elegant and versatile we’ve seen.

This antique Peking rug is in great condition for its age and origin, an extremely rare and collectible piece of Peking weaving.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
