Hand-knotted in wool and originating from China circa 1900, this 5x7 antique Peking rug is a particularly special piece, both for its open field and for its subtle execution of pictorials.
On the Design:
Keen eyes for detail will admire the pictorial patterns, especially the butterfly motifs in chocolate brown around impossibly subdued geometric patterns.
