The plinth form most probably dates from the early 20th Century with the turned screw column from an earlier date and most probably used as part of a wine press.
Befitting of interiors that blend pieces of different styles and ages and also those that harness the stripped-back, primitive, rustic, wabi-sabi aesthetic that is so on trend currently and embraces and helps us see natural beauty in imperfection.
The piece has amazing patina that only time can create. Condition: The item naturally shows some wear commensurate with age and the practical use it would have once served.
