Johann Adolf Lasinsky, oil on canvas, signed dated 1838, landscape painter, born October 16, 1808 in Simmern, died September 6. 1871 in Düsseldorf,
On his father's side, Lasinsky comes from the old Polish Leszczyński family, his father, a great-nephew of Wacław Leszczyński[1], was a cashier at the court of Stanislaus II August Poniatowski in Warsaw and came to failure after his abdication after the Kościuszko Uprising, the third partition of Poland in 1794 The reform movement and the increasing hegemony of Russia moved to Prussia in 1795, where he changed his name to Lasinsky and married the Rhenish poet Anna Maria Lasinsky, grandniece of the Vice Chancellor of the Duchy of Jülich-Berg, Georg Joseph Freiherr von Knapp. from 1830 at the latest, both parents were close to the democratic movement of the Vormärz and renounced their noble claims and titles.
Lasinsky attended the Royal Prussian High School in Koblenz until he was 17, then devoted himself to architecture, but since 1827, following his inclination and talent, to painting, which he studied at the Royal Prussian Academy in Düsseldorf. from 1829 to 1837, Lasinksy was a student in Johann Wilhelm Schirmer's landscape painting class.[2] Along with the artists Caspar Scheuren, Arnold Schulten, August Becker and others, Lasinsky is one of the Düsseldorf landscape painters who worked in Schirmer's line. Lasinsky was a close friend of the painter Carl Friedrich Lessing, who was the same age and who also had a strong influence on his painting. This piece has an attribution mark,
