Dimensions: height 17.5 cm, diameter 7 cm.
The wooden doll is adorned with a hand-painted flower motif.
The kokeshi bears a signature on the bottom. In good condition, lovely patina, and slight discoloration. Born in Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture, Yamanaka-san began his artistic career as a photographer after studying chemistry. Yamanaka-san utilized his art background to join the Sosaku Kokeshi movement. As a multiple award winner, he won, among others, the Ministry of Education Award at the All Nippon Modern Kokeshi Exhibition in 1979. This piece has an attribution mark,
