- This antique two-piece wooden lintel bears the marks of its age and history, adding to its charm and character. At … moreThis antique two-piece wooden lintel bears the marks of its age and history, adding to its charm and character. At one time, there may have been something gracing the center of the piece, as evidenced by the faint impressions suggesting the angels may have been holding an object. However, this element is now missing. Additionally, a small piece of the center Rococo ribbon is absent, adding to the patina of the piece. Furthermore, the angel on the left-hand side is missing the tail with the flower motif, a subtle imperfection that speaks to the passage of time and the wear of centuries. Each of the left side angel’s wings displays slight damage, likely accrued over years of use and exposure to the elements. Additionally, upon close inspection, it is apparent that the angel on the right-hand side has some damage on her thumb, a testament to the fragility of the wood and the delicate nature of the carving. Despite these signs of wear and minor damage, the lintel remains a stunning example of antique craftsmanship, with its intricate carvings and rich history adding a unique touch to any space. less
