Fukagawa is a Japanese porcelain that comes from a family name that dates all the way back to the 17th … more Fukagawa is a Japanese porcelain that comes from a family name that dates all the way back to the 17th Century. In 1856, Ezaiemon Fukagawa was appointed head of the family porcelain business and 1875, founded the Company of the Scented Orchid. In 1894, The Fukagawa Company was founded, and used Mount Fuji with a stream as its trademark. Fukagawa was entered into many competitions and has won many awards for its classic Japanese styling and simple beauty. It is the provider of porcelains to the Japanese Imperial House. Not all pieces of Fukagawa is stamped. But the classic design of the Orchid is unmistakable. This exquisite pair of wall pockets are classically styled Fukagawa. The singular orchid is mighty on its own and need no decorative embellishments. Both pieces are simple and harmonious. The sides and backs are leaves and smaller orchids. These pieces are vintage, and have been lovingly cared for, and are in wonderful vintage condition. There are what look to be like manufacturing issues on the bottoms of each piece where the glaze did not adhere as well as it should. The point on the blue vase has a rough spot and it seems someone attempted to fix the point on the bottom of the green vase. They tried to fix roughness of the bottom and used a green that is a darker shade then the rest of green glaze. There is also a small spot of missing glaze on back of green vase. These minor issues do not detract from either piece and are not obvious when hung. The green vase is marked, Made in Japan on back. Both items are used and insides are minorly stained. Please reference photos. Each vase is 12 inches tall x 4 inches in diameter at top. less

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

Cancellations

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.
- Shipping charges start at $799 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
- Only available in selected markets.
- Chairish In-Home Delivery
