This is an antique military trunk. An English, camphorwood chest or blanket box, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Appealing late Victorian trunk, with a wonderfully clean appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Camphorwood presents fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Bound to the corners with quality brass caps and brackets
Stout lid dressed with a shaped drop handle and unmarked name plaque to top
Accentuated across the fascia with the name and number 4013 - A. Jones
Shield shaped brass lock escutcheon to the front — untested, key absent
