Vintage: C.1950s, Gorgeous rare, Italian hand-carved and honed, alabaster and Carrara marble lamp of a rearing horse mounted on an carrara marble slanted, oval base, with original felted base protectors. Newly rewired, with a brass 3-way switch, on-off switch to rewired cording, with a new socket, neck and stem, as images indicate. Originally when we came across this item, in South Florida, the lamp parts were all missing, we were horrified why someone would do away with the essential elements to this lamp, and offset it's beauty. A timeless, and iconic image from a a coveted era in Design, the Hollywood Regency era. There are minor, minute flea bites to the oval base, top edging, but does not detract from the essence and beauty, including the serene, nuanced veining of softs putty and medium grays, with light brown veining. perfect for any entry, foyer, landing, desk, office, reading room, family room, or special place and/or room of one's interior space.
Main Dimensions is a Side Profile Width vs. Depth and overall Height.
ALSO: The Brass Stem/Neck was capability to lower and raise from 23.25"H all the way up to 27" depending upon persons, desirability of height, to shade size and formation and/or placement of shade utilized. The brass neck also was a knob, adjacent to alabaster horse, whereupon one can raise or lower the neck, as well as ALSO change the direction of the harp/socket. The beauty of change, with the quality of the piece. less
