I find Maitland-Smith furniture to be truly remarkable and unique, and this piece is no exception. Most Maitland-Smith furniture is made in the Philippines, and the quality is extraordinary. Each drawer is surrounded by a carved design in the wood (refer to picture 7). This is a vintage chest of drawers and has a few condition issues that I want to point out. There are two screws that have been inserted into the bottom edge on the left side (refer to pictures 8 and 10), possibly to secure a loose piece of trim. In this same area, there is a small piece of leather that has separated from the wood trim. There are also a few spots on the top in the lower left-hand corner. As you can see in picture 10, the top is in very good condition other than these small spots. There are signs of wear on the leather in places. The drawers open up easily.
