Oil painting on okoume board (similar to mahogany) of an English fox hunting scene with horses and riders on the chase. Satori’s inspiration comes from having lived at Warren House, (1979-81) a Queen Anne cottage in the middle of The Hatfield forest in Essex, England. Hatfield is a rare example of a surviving medieval Royal hunting Forest, characterized by coppices and woodland pastures.
Satori Gregorakis (b. Long Island, N.Y., 1943-) Satori is committed to beauty, exploring and developing new ideas and skills while his resolve for diversity continues. In this pursuit, he discovers the mysteries and challenges of painting in the styles of old masters, and allows himself to be guided by the spontaneity of his imagination in abstract painting.
