Sign is made of solid wood. Sign is from the 1960s. I would guess this was painted by someone associated with the salon and not by a professional sign painter due to the black line used to cross the letter A. Interesting historical example of sign painting folk art from an era gone by. There is a line that appears to have been cut into the sign with a router that crates an indented border all the way around it. See less
