I’m not sure if this piece was originally a table or cabinet top or if it’s been fitted for wall hanging for its entire life. Regardless , it is an impressive piece of traditional Indian inlaid rosewood. There are very shallow tool marks surrounding some of the inlay, I believe that these marks add character to the piece. While there are no gouges, scratches, breakage or pieces of missing inlay present on this piece. It is a fine example of inlaid rosewood from India and features a scene and patterning with are both traditional images from India in the mid 20th century. less
