Vintage Brass Hermle Ship’s Bell Clock. This German Nautical Maritime Style Ship Wheel Clock - Made in Germany circa 1970’s has a 1 bell quartz 1/2 hour ship’s bell strike movement (*bell is not chiming and will need repair). The Franz Hermle clock movement is model #577-071 SG which was discontinued sometime in the early 1990’s. The movement is part mechanical and part battery-operated, zero jewels, unadjusted. The outer clock casing resembles a captain’s ship wheel in a polished brass finish and the clock face has a brass encased glass front “door” cover that can be opened to adjust the clock hands. It is meant to be wall mounted and has a small hole on the outer rim of the back to mount it to a wall or plaque board. *mounting hardware NOT included. It measures 10.5” wide by 3.75” in depth overall.
*The clock requires one C battery. *BATTERY NOT INCLUDED for shipping reasons.* Buyer will need to insert a new battery upon delivery. In order to replace the clock battery, you will just need to remove the back plate by simply lying the clock face down and pulling the inserted backplate off. The backplate slides in and out easily and is a screw-less removable attachment. (See last photo).
**CONDITION: Good vintage condition with some surface wear and minimal tarnish (see all photos). I am unsure if the bell chimer is in working order or if something just needs to be adjusted. I have not heard the bell chime. The outer decorative part of the casing is missing 3 of the brass ship wheel handles (see photos) these handles are decorative and can be removed.
