Features traditional Chippendale styling, a wild cherry finish, scalloped and beveled edges and wood skirting, and distinctive cabriolet legs. It is a reproduction of a provincial Louis XVI design with a pierced lace style partial gallery that flanks either end of the rectangular table but leaves an 18" area in the center of the both sides of the table free from any raised gallery railing. Solid fine Mahogany is used throughout the piece which is a signature of the Chippendale refinement. It is handcrafted and appears to be made using the old-world construction techniques.
Although there is no signature or makers mark discoverable it bears the manner of craftsmanship and engineering that is associated with a Karges Furniture piece circa 1960s.
A cut to fit glass table top is shown in the photos qadn is offered with the sale. However there is a noticeable chip incenter in the non galleried space on one side. If the buyer would rather not have the protective glass top, please advise before shipping. The absence of the glass top does not create a price consideration and is not original to the table.
