The specific stand came from the … more This is a illuminated conductor sheet music stand from the 19 twenties to 1930s. The specific stand came from the Williams Fox theater in San Francisco California. Used for live orchestra conducting during the transition between silent to sound pictures. Most of all the Fox theater is had the same sheet music stands like, the fox Los Angeles theater on Broadway and the Fox theater Pomona. However, the Pomona has nothing left of its original fixtures and the LA theater has only parts of the same style stand. This is one of the last enact stand still in existence. It is composed of both wood and metal I think maybe an aluminum. And the base that it sits on is made of some type of wood but I am not sure exactly what kind. less
