This example was produced by the Italian furniture company Cassina circa 2000.

The modernist 1920s design features an ergonomically shaped tubular chrome frame with black cowhide cushion (with thin strapping supports spanning the width of the chrome frame), cylindrical headrest (in matching leather, held on by buckled straps). The body rests on an ebonized steel frame (with angular tapered legs and horizontal support struts). The top section simply rests onto base and can be adjusted by sliding curved chrome tubing on underside along base to raise or lower the head/foot of the chair.

Cassina mark on chrome tubing on underside. Also has stamped number. Made in Italy.
