Wall Wardrobe by Mathieu Matégot - 1950s The french wall coat rack is out of the 1950s period. The wardrobe is an original of its time and it still impresses with its beautiful straight shape. Mathieu Matégot was a Hungarian-French designer and wallpaper designer. His most successful pieces were made of tubular metal and perforated sheet metal. He used a technique that he patented in 1952 under the name of Rigitulle. He was one of the defining artists of his time. The cleaned item weights 2.1 kg / 4.63 lbs. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
