This Wassily Kandinsky rare vintage 1972 lithograph print custom framed Guggenheim museum collector's exhibition poster " Blue Mountain No. 84 " 1908, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print framed exhibition poster is published by The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum New York, printed in England in 1972 by Lund Humphries in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition, designed by Malcom Grear Designers. It features an artwork originally created by Kandinsky in 1980 titled " Blue Mountain No. 84 ".
Wassily Kandinsky ( 1866 - 1944 ) was a Russian born Abstract Modernist painter and art theorist. He is considered to be one of the most important Abstract artists of all time. He was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School, and is credited with theories relating to his original color compositions and concepts of spiritual life and humanity in his artworks. Art works by Kandinsky are included in the collections of many of the worlds most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print collector's framed museum exhibition poster measures 22 1/8" W X 32 1/4" H X 3/4" D. It is period custom framed with plexiglass in a matte finish brick red metal frame molding with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age, use, and light signs of handling and wear. There is light signs of handling to the margin areas, and a light small area of surface wear on the right side margin area.
