The pew consists of two sections. The right section is intact as shown, the identical left side can be reattached to make seating for 8.

If you're handy with some basic tools, a new pew end could be fabricated to essentially create two separate benches if desired.

The left side of the shown bench has the grooves for the left portion of the complete pew.
