C1970's: Vintage Post-Modern, Maitland Smith, Enrique Garcel and/or Karl Springer-style, polished tessellated stone, side/end table, in a tone on tone tans, taupe, beiges, or creams with off white colorations and small veining. Included within this gorgeous table are inlaid brass banded details to top, sides, and base. The table is sitting offset on a platform style, floating recessed base, with brass banded details to base, and bumper supports, to protect the stone from chipping. There is an open ended, from all sides a lower level, whereupon one can use for books or some sort of decorative accent, or left airy and unencumbered. Flitched or beveled corners on all sides. A timeless, modernist and transitional piece to carry into any interior domain, between club chairs, for a reading table, a tea table, lounge room, office, den, or wherever anyone might visualize such an appealing and intrinsic simple, yet refined table. Maker's mark manufacturer's sticker is affixed on the underside base bottom, with provenance country, as well as detailed finish, ( 0152 = FOSSIL), production item #, 1005-40, (in 2 locations indicated, on order sticker as well as provenance sticker adjacent to larger sticker etc., as last image indicates. For some reason the sticker indicates this item as a bench, perhaps for entry at end of bed, but for those who have accustomed to these pieces, this reflects as a table, perfect to place between accent and/or club chairs, adjacent to a sofa, for a tea table, den or office. Maitland-Smith pieces with this same formatted, stone and marble in a brick format,or tessellation style, was produced mainly in the Philippines, and other venues within Southeast Asia, which made products for the Export Market into North America. It and the style has rumination of the wonderful Karl Springer pieces, much the same as this collection, which is quite popular, still to this day.
Width and Depth may vary; depending upon each owns placement; a la changing front and side/width and depth, one can flip-flop the dimensions as depicted.
