1967 Rare Vintage Mid-Century Modern 50” Circumference School Globe in Full Mount Wood Stand by Globe Maker & Cartographer: Denoyer-Geppert Co., Chicago. Edited by C. B. Odell, March 1, 1967. The Denoyer-Geppert Company was founded in 1916. The base interior is covered in the original felt which allows the globe to spin easily while the top of the wood stand has the hours of the day and other markings. I found the same globe/stand for sale for $2,500 but owing to the fact that Texas & part of Louisiana have lovingly been erased from the map (if you're not from those states, you may not mind!), no doubt by an errant school child, I have discounted it significantly. It would lend a cool vintage vibe to a child's playroom, bedroom, or nursery or to a library or living room skewing anywhere from industrial to MCM to vintage to Boho. Very cool throwback decor!
