a park with a beautiful … more The old oil on canvas painting, Landscape Painting which represents a 19th century painting, representing
a park with a beautiful flight of steps and many 19th century characters walking with their dogs.
The work is signed lower right by Jules Rozier, a French landscaper who loved painting outdoors.
Rozier Jules Charles (1821-1882), trained in Bertin's workshop then in that of Delaroche before continuing
his career alone in Medan then in Normandy where he loved painting landscapes and seascapes.
He exhibited his paintings from 1839 to 1882 at the Paris Salon. A painter as delicate and intimate as his painting.
Many paintings by this artist can be found in different museums in France: Aix, Nantes, La Rochelle and many others.
The oil painting is covered in a gilded frame with pure gold leaf dating from the 19th century.
The frame and the old canvas have been professionally restored.
