Peter Max (American, b. 1937). The Wave Mixed media with acetate overlay. Piece originates from the Larry T. Clemons Collection which was previously auctioned at Heritage. Retains original auction tags on the back. Original frame and matting, labeled on back. Black lacquer frame shows wear commensurate with age - see photos. No chips or cracks in the glass. Colors are clean and bright, acetate has dimension to it which is provides an optic, layered visual. Black and blue angular matting draws the eye directly to the image. Fantastic, rare hand painted Peter Max work with auction provenance. Does not come with a certificate of authenticity outside of prior provenance.
