"Lava and Purple Platter" by American studio glass artist Wes Hunting is a tour de force. Coming out of the studio oven at 2000 degrees a molten orb of glass is spun at the end of a pole, getting larger and larger while colors and forms are added until its ultimate size and shape are formed. The creation is both alchemy and art and beautiful. Wes Hunting is one of Americas foremost studio glass artists and this work is from his color field series.
