Beautiful large teak Mid-Century Modern expandable Dining Table with rounded corners designed by Alf Aarseth and manufactured by Gustav Bahus in Norway in the 1960s. Features richly grained, gleaming teak and smooth, clean lines characteristic of classic Danish design. This remarkable large dining table comes with three extension leaves to accommodate extra seating, transforming seating capacity from four to six or eight. With three leaves inserted, this table expands to 86 5/8" (7.22 feet) long! This absolute jewel remains in nearly pristine condition throughout. Features a rectangular top with rounded corners, and three conforming leaf insertions, raised over four beautiful, rosewood color rounded screw-in legs. Simply unscrew the legs by hand and the table can be stored vertically. The frame easily expands open to receive three original 11 7/8″ leaves allowing the table to extend to a full (86 5/8" ) exquisitely constructed. This is a wonderful table that offers three large leaves changing it from a medium size table to a large table, making this a versatile piece indeed, built to last the test of time. Manufacturer stamp on underside (Gustav Bahus Norway) this stamp has faded over the years. This is a stunning vintage Mid Century Modern dining table. A beautiful balance of modern and classic design. Perfect table for a kitchen or dining room, or use as a conference table, and due to size flexibility, will function wonderfully in a small or large space.
Condition Report: Original finish, in gorgeous condition, beautiful surface with only minor wear, overall gorgeous original condition. Very sturdy and strong. Base is stable and sturdy; wood shows minimal wear; extension hardware operates smoothly.
