Mid of the 20th century Eclectic Style 4-panel folding painted silk screen depicting Tengrian priests and in vestments and two women in robes. (Tengrianism is an ancient monotheistic religion, perhaps the oldest one, according to some historians. It was born in Central Asia and many centuries later was religion of Genghis Khan, about whom and his religion with great respect was writing British historian of the 18th century Edward Gibbon in his book "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire"), and other British and European scientists of the 18-19th centuries.) Unsigned. Detailed. Gouache, watercolor and ink on silk over paper on boards. Lacquered brown wood frame with engraved copper corners showing age patina. Paper over boards and 4 Asian style brass hangers on back. This artwork was designed by a high end designer European or American designer (regretfully I couldn't find his name), and it was hand made (according to the used materials) probably Hong Kong, circa 1970s-1980s. Nearly excellent condition - minor age wear overall, strong hinges, clean, heavy and sturdy. We moved brass hangers back to where they were originally, on the boards, for your safety.
