These are a wonderful set of true Victorian hair work acorn design mourning earrings. They are in excellent condition and measure approximately 7/8" in length. They are either low-grade gold or gold fill, both of which were normal for the period and type of earrings they are. The acorn is a symbol of strength, potential, fertility, and immortality and was often used as a secondary symbol of mourning for the Victorians. A really wonderful historical piece of jewelry that makes quite the statement on. They look wonderful on! Very Good condition.
