An ancient Janus coin in gold surround with bezel diamond accent. In ancient Roman mythology, Janus is the god of beginnings and transitions, also of gates, doors, passages, endings and time. He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past. A Roman silver Denarius coin from 114-113 BC. This is Janiform image is the head of Dioscuri, with a P on the left and a star on the right. On the reverse side there is a galley with a pilot and three oarsmen. This coin has been inspected and approved to be authentic by a professional Numismatic who specializes in ancient coinage. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany this coin.
