- A Moroccan ornately painted-wood trunk from the early 20th century. This antique trunk from Morocco has has been artistically hand-painted … more A Moroccan ornately painted-wood trunk from the early 20th century. This antique trunk from Morocco has has been artistically hand-painted in a geometric, foliate, and urn motif in vibrant shades of blue, orange, red, and gold. There is a skirt that hangs down lower than the actual interior case which allows for a pierce-cut embellishment at the lower center of the front panel. The painted finish adorns this piece all about the top, front and each end of the case. When opened, the domed top (hinged along the center) uniquely flips open to rest against the opposite side; this conveniently keeps it open while accessing the interior. This piece is raised slightly off of the floor upon four rounded legs. The trunk's interior offers a large open storage space, with a smaller compartment along the top interior side. The back-side of this piece remains un-decorated, therefore best use would be against a wall. This early 20th century Moroccan chest, with its colorful presence and four foot length, will make a beautiful case piece within in an entry or family/living room, offering plentiful storage within. less
