This Andy Warhol Estate very rare vintage 1990 offset lithograph print custom framed large Pop Art poster " Three Perrier Bottles " 1983, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art poster print is published by Nouvelles Images S.A. Editeurs, Lombreuil France, printed in 1990 in France with the authorized licensed rights of The Estate and Foundation of Andy Warhol. It features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1983 titled " Three Perrier Bottles ", copyright 1990 The Estate and Foundation of Andy Warhol, under license from Schiafer Nance & Co. Inc. Atlanta, GA. USA.
This is a rare opportunity for true Warhol and Pop Art fans and collectors both as this coveted image, " Andy Warhol Collection " large Pop Art poster print is long out of print and very scarce to find. The official " AW " Foundation seal of authenticity is printed on the poster in the upper right corner front.
Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objets and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
During the beginning of the 1980's, Warhol began accepting commissions from a range of manufacturers and businesses. In 1983 the unique artwork depicting bottles of the French mineral water Perrier was created by Warhol as an experimental design for an advertising campaign to immortalize their brand. At the time, the work prompted some critics to condemn him for seemingly returning to his roots as an illustrator for hire. True to himself, Warhol countered that " I was always a commercial artist ".
The Perrier Warhol artwork was awarded The Grand Prize of Great French Poster Design in 1983. In this intersection of iconic art and advertising, the legendary artist Andy Warhol created a collaborative masterpiece that beautifully merges Pop Art and consumer culture, elevating the sparkling water brand into the realm of Postmodern Chic. An example of this poster artwork is held in the museum collections of The Tate London, Museum of Modern Art, New York, and The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
The rare out of print large format offset lithograph print framed Pop Art poster measures 40" W X 28 1/8" H X 1 3/8" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern brushed matte finish black metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean vintage condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
