14 piece French sweets set, made in the 1890's by A. Lanternier in Limoges, France. This white porcelain set consists of two pedestal compotes and 12 matching plates. They are hand decorated with light and dark pink flowers with yellow centers. Moss green foliage on brown branches adds to the naturalistic elements of the design. Gold gilding accents the flowers and is "brushed" on the rims.
The rims are elaborately scalloped and there are embossed scrolls subtly surrounding the rim.
There is a small chip on one plate, which has been touched up with professional grade rim paint. Otherwise, this set is in in very fine condition, consistent with gently used antique porcelain, free of any other chips, cracks or excessive wear.
