This antique architectural fragment from Italy has a greatly spanning width of over 8.75 feet, with a height at center of over 3 feet tall. There is a heavily molded cornice atop the softly rounded pediment center, which flows down onto the two lower sides. The center is carved with bountiful leaves, tied bouquet style, and framing a centrally carved flower. Additional bundled leaf motifs decorate each flanking end, which juts out in squared fashion creating a larger sense of three-dimensional character to this fragment. Primary coloring is white with gold gilt. This impressively sized Italian architectural piece from the 18th century would be glorious incorporated over a master bed, or perhaps adorning a large opening between rooms.
