The brass has seen some oxidation making it darker in certain spots. I polished the letter holder so it does have some shine, nonetheless. Other than the aged patina (no verdigris), everything on the letter holder is in tip top shape. The feet are securely affixed, no wobbliness. If you’re a seashell lover or a brass lover you will not be disappointed in this item! Even better is that it doesn’t take up much space on your desk. Trust me, I know the value of space.
