Original lithograph “Pont Neuf” by Maurice Utrillo, printed by Atelier Mourlot, one of the most renowned printmakers in history, producing prints of the highest quality; on deckle-edge Arches vellum paper. Published by Joseph Foret in Paris, 1955. Signed in the plate. Sheet size: 12-3/4 x 16-3/4; print size: 9 x 12-1/2 inches.
This lithograph is part of the series of 10 lithographs from the limited edition (197 copies) portfolio “Paris Capitale”, the last work by Utrillo, who died shortly after its publication.
Maurice Utrillo (1883-1955), was a French painter who was best known for his depictions of the houses and streets of the Montmartre district of Paris and is one of the few famous painters of Montmartre who was born there. less
