The Hyo Table in its warm, neutral color is beautiful Southern cypress wood cube side table that exudes understated elegance. This wood cube side table is crafted from sturdy cypress, known for its rustic beauty and durability. The grain is soothing and restrained. The minimalist cube design fits in both contemporary and traditional interiors. A natural patina develops over time, and you will love the look of a living finish.
Visitors to the cypress swamps of the southeastern United States are often intrigued by the swollen bases, or buttresses—the knees—of varying size found around the base of many cypress trees.
We use salvaged Southern cypress, elevate the knots and grain variation and add a urethane sealer. These wooden cube side tables are great for indoor and outdoor use. Durable and versatile, cluster several Hyos for a coffee table. They are sturdy enough to use as informal seating.
Note on Materials: Cracks are part of the rustic beauty of these pieces. If the finish cracks or chips, you may see some raw wood underneath. You may notice differences from piece to piece or to images on the website or between samples received. There is no stain, so the color may vary. This is a quality of natural wood. The knots and cracks that you may see will not cause structural deficiencies as they are an organic aspect of the wood. We view these elements not as flaws, but as reminders of the tree from which each piece is born. Natural materials will age over time and with exposure to the elements—the more exposure, the quicker they will age. Expansion and contraction due to temperature variability may occur. They will age with integrity when cared for appropriately. Wood Care: Cypress will grey over time. If outside, the finish should be scuffed and reapplied as needed, approximately yearly, for best results. Bare wood will grey faster than finished wood, and cypress has good outdoor qualities. less
