Jansen (1902 - 1969) was a dutch architect and furniture designer. He was known for his innovative furniture designs, which increasingly incorporated elements of modern design and thus differed from the classic art deco style. Jansen studied at the "koninklijke academie van beeldende kunsten" in the hague, better known as the "hagse school". The "hagse school" was an art movement that developed in the netherlands between around 1890 and the late 1920s. It was a reaction to the influence of impressionism and art nouveau and emphasized a return to more traditional art forms and craftsmanship. The very rare chest of drawers was designed by arnold h. Jansen in the early 1930s for the dutch manufacturer l. O. V. Oosterbeek. Manufacturer's name on the inside. The chest of drawers is made of solid oak and is in a really beautiful original condition with a light patina. The furniture was only thoroughly cleaned inside and out. Height 80cm. The length can be extended by 24cm on both sides. This piece has an attribution mark,
