Bezel-set with an antique 18th Century Wedgwood & Bentley black basalt stoneware intaglio seal.

The intaglio depicts Harpocrates standing in the boat of the Sun.

Marked to the reverse Wedgwood & Bentley and with the model no. 136.

Harpocrates is also Horus, the Egyptian god of the sun. He's wearing a corn measure on his head, the club of Hercules in his left hand, and is in a boat of papyrus with two peacock head terminals.

Condition Details:
There is a light tear to the bezel, two marks to the top, and light surface wear throughout. Otherwise, there are some very fine and light surface scratches and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
