The solid beech wood, stained walnut (as was the original stain and tone) has been hand-sanded and refinished using the exact techniques and materials as was originally utilized 60+ years ago and shows only one 1 inch - long chip on the top rear corner of backrest which can be seen clearly in both the natural light video and detail photos provided. With that said there are no other scratches, stains or any other signs of wear present whatsoever. The cushions, reupholstered in a kind-to-the-touch faded canary yellow cotton bouclé, is in showroom never-sat-in condition and perfectly offsets the rich, dark mocha tones of the beech wood. The cushions are original and provide a firm, comfortable sink. The support straps have been replaced providing extra support. This iconic Model 596 lounge chair is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use thanks to it's recent restoration process.
