To mark the artist's 100th birthday, … more This is a small series of paintings inspired by the French painter Pierre Soulages. To mark the artist's 100th birthday, the Musée du Louvre invited Soulages to present a solo exhibition in its prestigious Salon Carré. It was held from December 11, 2019 to March 9, 2020 and did include a special focus on outrenoir polyptychs. Soulages created his outrenoir - "ultra black" or "beyond black" paintings after he had been a painter for 30 years.

This small series was created as an hommage on and around the time Soulages passed: October 25, 2022.

S7, is the seventh and last piece in the series.
